Fewer stamps when visits are far apart
A salon client who has a cut and colour might come in every six to eight weeks. With ten stamps, the card takes over a year to fill, and in that time it can be forgotten and worn out. Five or six stamps mean the reward comes within about a year for a typical client. Give one stamp per booked visit, not per service, so a cut with colour doesn't earn three stamps at once.
Reward with time and product, not a full cut
A free cut is generous but takes a whole slot out of the diary. A conditioning treatment, a gloss or a luxurious scalp massage after the wash costs you a few minutes and a little product you already have at the chair. To the client it feels like a real gift. If your colour clients spend much more than your cut clients, they can have their own card with its own reward, so both cards stay simple.
Write the next appointment on the back
Let the card do two jobs. Print a “Your next appointment” line on the back and fill in the date when the client books their next appointment at the till, so the card ends up in their purse rather than the bin. Stamp with your own stamp bearing the salon's initials, not a pen, and sign the last box. Keep the terms short: one stamp per visit, no cash alternative, the card is personal.
Print it nicely, or move the card to the phone
Clients see your card next to mirrors and good products, so paper quality shows. Print at 100% scale on thick, matt card and cut along the crop marks, or download the PNG or SVG for a print shop. If you notice clients losing their cards between visits, which is easy with two months in between, a loyalty card in Apple Wallet or Google Wallet works better. It stays on the phone and sends a reminder when the client walks past the salon.
