Reward ideas

Loyalty reward ideas for beauty salons

Beauty clients book on a rhythm, from a fortnightly manicure to a monthly facial, so different services want different cards. These five are priced against a €60 average ticket at 80 % margin.

Five reward structures that work

Brow shape at six

In the typical range

6 treatments → a free brow shape

A quick add-on service with almost no product cost. It fills a gap in the diary and feels like a proper thank-you.

6 stamps · reward worth €25.00 ≈ 7 % of what the customer spends to earn it · costs you about €5.00 per reward at 80 % margin

Sixth manicure half price

In the typical range

5 manicures → 6th at half price

Nails are the most frequent visit, so the card fills in ten weeks. A discount rather than a free service keeps the slot paid.

5 stamps · reward worth €22.50 ≈ 10 % of what the customer spends to earn it · costs you about €4.50 per reward at 80 % margin

Facial at eight

In the typical range

8 visits → a 30-minute facial

A richer reward for a longer card. Good for clients who mix services and would not otherwise try a facial.

8 stamps · reward worth €45.00 ≈ 9 % of what the customer spends to earn it · costs you about €9.00 per reward at 80 % margin

Lash refill discount

In the typical range

4 refills → €20 off the next

Refills are on a strict cycle; the card keeps the client on it rather than stretching the gap.

4 stamps · reward worth €20.00 ≈ 10 % of what the customer spends to earn it · costs you about €4.00 per reward at 80 % margin

Product card

In the typical range

8 products → 1 free

Skincare retail carries a high margin. A product card rewards the purchase that happens at the desk on the way out.

8 stamps · reward worth €18.00 ≈ 13 % of what the customer spends to earn it · costs you about €3.60 per reward at 80 % margin

Before you pick one

Run one card per service line if the rhythms differ. A nail client and a facial client should not be on the same ten-stamp card; one will finish it in weeks, the other never.

Questions

A reward costs you what it costs to make, not its sales price: the sales price minus your gross margin. The share is the reward's sales price divided by everything the customer spends to earn it. Both use a typical margin for the industry; the calculator lets you put in your own.
A reward worth 5–15 % of the spend needed to earn it is where most programmes land: worth chasing for the customer, affordable for you. Under 5 % is usually ignored; over 15 % works but check the monthly net.
Keep one base rule per loyalty card, so customers and staff can explain it in a sentence. Use campaigns for the rest: double stamps on quiet days, a bonus stamp for trying something new, a birthday reward.
